Janice = When I lived in Morgan Co., I had excellent service getting both marriage and
death certs. However, the DAR sets way too many restrictions for proof of Revolutionary
ancestor status, so I finally decided it wasn't worth my time or money to continue.
When I returned to Washington State where I now reside, I have had several DAR members who
are friends tell me that these restrictions are very handicapping and they are quite
unhappy about the new procedures.
Just thought you might like to know.

In Morgan Co. you can get these certificates for $5.00. The key is you must tell them
they are for genealogy purpose.I went to Owen Co. for 3 death certificates, they cost me
$5.00 each and only had the name and date of the person who died. I really was needing
the names of their parents on them, also, as they were for DAR. In Lawrence Co., they put
the parents name on the back if they are not using the form that list them on the front.
I did not look at them until I got home, which was a big mistake. So I now need to go
back and see if they are listed anywhere on their certificate book or I will have to turn
to obits, wills, and probates.Janice Enk
