Debbie, I love the Sweet Owen website. I haven't used (as in, found
many direct connections to my family) it a lot, but I find the
information there very interesting, and I do browse it every month or so
to get ideas about what life may have been like for my fore bearers in
southern Indiana. My attempt to "put into global context" their lives,
concerns, and experiences. Exactly how did the Civil War affect
schoolteachers in Owen Co. ? Did flu epidemics decimate places like
Spencer? Were families wiped out? What did a pig farmer think of 'the
war to end all wars' in Europe, and did he really feel it necessary to
send his sons to serve in the armed forces? Indiana in the 1800s &
1900s is made easier to understand by your efforts to present snapshots
of those times. Thank you so much.

Is everyone having trouble reading the website pages?
I am receiving a few emails here and there stating that it is hard to read.
I don't know if this is other computers or what, so if everyone would just take a
moment and
check it to let me know I would appreciate it.
