First I want to thank everyone who has responded to my post
yesterday concerning my Warren Porter Pierson.
A few hours after posting that message I received by snail
mail, a copy of the 1850 census from Owen County Historical
Society and it listed my Warren along with several brothers
and a sister and his father. The nice person also took it
further and found the marriage license for his parents and
it listed his mother's maiden name as Sarah CRAFTON in
1827. Just a neat little coincedence, they were married on
my wedding date, so we shared anniversary dates....: )
Now my search has spread to Kentucky where George W. PIERSON
was born abt. 1804. Any ideas on how to find out what
county? I don't know when he moved to Indiana but he was
married there so could it be that his parents also lived in
this part of Indiana? How far back did they take census's?
Is that what I should do next?
Sorry for so many questions. It is pretty exciting to see
these new names.
Just incase I'll list Warren's siblings too. They were:
Rebecca b.abt. 1828 in KY
John b.abt. 1832 in IN
Bartholomew b.abt. 1834 in IN
George H. b.abt. 1840 in IN
Warren P. b.abt 1842 in IN
William b.abt. 1846 in IN
There was a Marand Fisher 7 yrs old living there too listed
immediately after Warren. I'm guessing her name was
Maranda. Her age was the same as Warren. Is Fisher her
last name? I'm guessing it was. If so how was she
related? How can I find this out? According to the census
info she was also born in IN. From John down through Marand
they all attended school that year. Were there school
records kept?
Thanks for all your help.
