Frances,
The mention of a Mary Ann Clark caught my eye as well.
I have a document from the Owen Co. Gen. Soc. records that Mary Ann Clark,
second wife of David Faulkner, was the sister of my gggrandmother, Eliza
Jane Clark (married: Taylor). It's undocumented, but most of us agree that
Mary Ann and Eliza Jane's parents are William Clark and Elizabeth Hays.
I am in touch with Rex Faulkner and Bill Crawford who are descendants of
David. Linda Loudermilk of Owen Co. has done quite a bit of work on the
family as well. Rex and Bill have e-mail addresses.
Rex is RFaulk7002(a)aol.com
Bill is WCraw4217(a)aol.com
With David's many children, I can't offhand remember which of them is the
first family descendant, but there has been work done on Celia.
For Linda Loudermilk I have only a snail address.
You are definitely in the right family with your reference to your
gggrandmother, Celia Grizzle. Rex can e-mail you his tree with most of the
family cited. Rex has photos of the gravestones of David and Mary Ann in
Brown Co. TX.
Nice to meet a collateral. Let me know if you can't reach Rex or Bill.

Subject: Re: Betsy Goss
Who was the Betsy GOSS, who married John Carter in Owen Co In in
1870?
John
was a prominent citizen of Morgan Twp.,Owen Co.,In, who was
previously
married to Patsy SINGLETON and Mary Ann CLARK.
The above message caught my eye - I am researching the Routh / Faulkner
families that came from Owen Co. to Brown Co., Texas in the 1880's
James C. Carter, born in 1870 is a son of Elmira Routh and W. J. Carter.
Elmira is a sister to my grandmother, Mary Vilette Routh Faulkner. Also
Mary
Ann Clark was the name of the second wife of David Faulkner that is
my
great
grandfather. Is it possible James C. Carter might be connected to
John
Carter. Do you know the name of John's father and mother? Could this be
the
same Mary Ann Clark that was the second wife of my great grandfather
David
Faulkner? Just fishing. I have had no luck finding much information on
David Faulkner born in 1811 in Wythe Co., Va, but I know from an article
printed in the Owen Co. Journal in 1874 that he lived in and around Owen
Co.,
In. before coming to Texas. His first wife is buried in the Morris
Cemetery.
Her name was Celia Grizzle Folkner/Faulkenr, my great grandmother.
Probably
just coincidences but would love to have any information available
about
John
