Dear Kathy,
This would be a wonderful experience..... but, I am in California and unable
to travel. I don't suppose there's any chance of a webcast?
Someday, I'd love to be able to travel to Owen County to do research, but
that seems to be out of the question for the foreseeable future.
Thanks for your updates!

Local News Release
Owen County Historical and Genealogical Society (OCHGS)
Bud Sheese to speak
“Looking for my Owen County Roots”
September 18, 2007
Folks who were lucky enough to grow up in a place that resembles our Sweet
Owen County will certainly enjoy visiting with Bud Sheese. Bud is a long
time member of the Owen County Historical and Genealogical Society and he
will be sharing stories about searching for his ancestors.
Bud has always had an interest in the roots of his family and has spent
considerable time researching their history. He wants to share the joys and
disappointments he has experienced in digging for his own genealogical
records.
The first records place the Sheese family in Owen County in about 1846 with
some Sheese’s locating in Morgan Township. Bud’s family settled in Franklin
Township near the thriving community of Freedom. Anyone familiar with
growing up in a rural community will enjoy hearing of the antics enjoyed by
Bud and his Owen County friends and family.
If you are interested in starting your own family history, this would be an
opportunity to learn from someone who has the experience and know-how. We
hope you will come and join us as we listen, learn and participate in Bud’s
genealogical adventures, joys and mis-steps.
Everyone is invited to come to the Owen County Public Library’s meeting room
on the upper level on Tuesday September 18th at 7:00 pm, 10 S. Montgomery
Street, Spencer, Indiana.
Regards,
Terresa Thompson
President, Owen County Historical and Genealogy Society
