Thanks so much, but I have had this problem in the past as well, but maybe
you're right this time, I did send it to the email add posted online on the
Owen Co. website and the same one is posted on the Hist. Soc. website. I will
do as you suggested and try it again.

Hi Nancy,
The library staff are the ones to work on lookups and are very good at
responding to queries. I don't know what we would do without them! Their
"no response" was most likely the result of a lost email or a deletion by a
"spam" filter. They went through a change in their computer networking
setup a few months ago, and had a few "bugs" that needed to be fixed. We
lost a few files on our computer in the genealogy "vault" to the change,
which we eventually did recover. It was probably during this transition
that your request went into the great unknown. If I were you I would resend
your request, and set your "request read receipt" flag to make sure they do
get the email.
If your request was sent to someone at the Archives, those requests are
being kept in a folder for processing when the Archives are open and there
are volunteers available to do research. You should have received a
response explaining the situation, but if your email was stopped by a spam
filter or was inadvertently misplaced, then it may not have been received.
To update you and everyone, the OCHGS Archive records are still being
processed/inventoried and are not particularly "friendly" to searches.
After the move in January, most of the 800+ books and boxes were shuffled
and shelved out of order. The inventory has just been completed and the
next step will be to organize the collection. One problem that is being
remedied is the lack of shelving space. There has never been enough
shelving and a lot of the books were just stacked in a corner. We have
scheduled the high-school wood-working class to come in next week to
measure, plan and build the new shelving. Once the new shelves are
completed and the records organized, we will be preparing to start the
digitization project.
Also, we have been working to purchase and install all of the equipment and
office setup... which is still not totally complete, but very close. It has
been a long process and we are excited to get to a point that we can start
work. Hopefully, the money and support will continue until the entire
collection is on CD and available! Won't that be a wonderful day!!!
We are so thankful for everyone's patience and support with this adventure!
