I am researching the George and Susannah Myers Williamson family and
George's sister Mary Williamson Foster and her husband James. Both
couples were married in Washington Co., Va. The children of George and
Susannah were Sarah Jane who married Harker Sloan in Owen Co. in 1848,
Susanna who married Thomas Wampler in 1856, David who married Mary Brown
in 1842, he was a Methodist minister, Mary or Polly, who married a
Mitchell, Julia, who married a Hutson and two other sons, one whom I
suspect is John who married Amanda Ross, she later married a Poe in
Putnam Co. and the other a Lewis. Susannah died in 1837 according to
her son David's obit, right after they settled in Owen Co. George was
here, as were the Foster's, in the 1850 census, then they must have
moved on.
My great, great grandparents were Sarah Jane and Harker Sloan. Harker
was 39 years old when he married. I found him by himself in White Co.,
Tenn in the 1840 census.
