Good luck! My uncle married a woman named Kathleen, who was known

everyone as "Tootie". Her sister's nickname was Babe: I forget what
her
real name was, but it was in no way related to her nickname. My Uncle
Jack and Aunt Tootie named their kids Marilee (who went by Mimi), John
(who went by Buddy), and Tim (who went by Duffy). Maybe it was only
in
the OLD days that nicknames made sense, in terms of their relation to
the
given name? I guess you'd have to try to find the people on the
census,
and see what the parents gave the census takers as the children's
names.
