Just an FYI...
Bowling Green is the County Seat for Clay County, Indiana
Spencer is the County Seat for Owen County.

I happen to also be working on the Huber line and saw your message of May
7,
2006 to iggy29(a)sbcglobal.net
where you found information regarding the Marriage of Samuel Elijah Huber
and Mary Belle Nichols, stating they were were married at Bowling Green,
Clay
co., Indiana, I found verification of their marriage 14 March 1888 in the
WPA
books, they were married in Owen County, Book 32, page 324. I don't
believe
there is a Bowling Green in Indiana.
Ironically I had received a lot of information from Melba Haltom, as we
were
related by great grandfathers.

Bowling Green, Indiana is located on Indiana 46, between Spencer and Terre
Haute, Indiana, in Washington Township, Owen County. On the map, it looks
like
a million other wide spots in Indiana's rural areas, but appears to be
the
largest town in Washington township.
I have a current Indiana Atlas and Gazetteer if anyone needs additional
lookups in the states of Indiana or Ohio.
