Subject: OCHGS - JUNE MEETING
Owen County Historical and Genealogical Society (OCHGS)
Chris Cavanaugh to speak about Lewis and Clark
at June 20th OCHGS Meeting
"Have you ever wondered if someone from the Lewis and Clark Expedition might
have visited our neighborhood? Are you curious about the hardships and
struggles they endured? What foods did they have? How many people started on
the journey and how many completed the trip? You can get answers to all of
your questions by attending our next meeting. Come and hear Chris Cavanaugh,
Plainfield High School history teacher and Lewis and Clark aficionado. Chris
will give a lively presentation about Meriwether Lewis and William Clark and
their expedition setting off near present-day Clarksville, Indiana, on
October 26, 1803, on a three-year trip to explore the Louisiana Purchase and
the Pacific Northwest.
Everyone is invited to come to the Owen County Public Library's meeting room
on the upper level and listen to a very captivating presentation about the
Indiana Territory's role in the expedition.
Best Regards,
Donna Stogsdill
