Regarding Andrew Criss in the 1880 on familysearch.org--
Although it is a REALLY great resource, I myself have spent countless hours
and weeks sometimes looking for persons in my family.
Although I knew for a fact that they existed, nothing came up.
After trying several variations in spelling and entry they finally showed up.
George M. Carter showed up at G. Carder
From my past experience, you might try the spelling of
CRIS, CRIST, KRIS, KRIST OR use ANDY OR JUST A
Time consuming as it sounds, with my above mentioned George Carter, I
actually entered just George for each of the individual counties in that area
such as Owen, Morgan, Putnam, Parke and Clay.
You can zero in a bit more by putting a year of birth.
Some of the census recordings have made me really wonder if the census taker
although spelling phonetically was actually "listening".
The surname WARTHEN I have found as WORTHINGTON.....

According to the postings for the German reformed Cemetery, Andrew
Criss
died Aug. 31, 1884, aged 21 years 21 days. I thought he would be easy to
find in the 1880 census via
FamilySearch.org, but he did not pull up.
Anyone know whose son he was?
