Just wanted to thank everyone for their input on Elisha and Suzanne. I have
found most of Elisha's descendants from census records, and Owen Co. records,
but have been unable to find out much on who Elisha's parents may be. Seems
like the Childress researchers are all in disagreement over this matter, as
well as who Elisha's wife, Suzanne might be. The marriage of Elisha and
Suzanne in Stokes Co. is the only record I have been able to find on-line, and
the dates would be very close to what I would expect. With her last name
being Childress on the marriage cert., I've been wondering if she was widowed,
then married Elisha. So many trees gave the Arney name as hers, that I was
hoping an Arney researcher might know something of this. So far, I have been
unable to find the source for this information. So many of the Fulks,
Fiscus', and Arney's seemed to stay together, and I've found several
Childress' mixed in here and there while the groups were still in North
Carolina. Since there hasn't been any real breakthrough from the Childress
angle, I thought maybe one of the Arney researchers may have the source of the
Suzanne marriage. The last name "Bowen" has been mentioned as a second wife
for Elisha, but so far I have not been able to find anything to support this.
Again, thanks for all of your input!
Jacquie
