No not always, if there were family cemetery's those records may have been
destroyed at sometime either by fire, or no one bothered to pass them on to
someone.
Also records can be "lost" and the only way is to read the tombstones of the
cemetery. Course then there is also those that did not have tombstones, so
who knows where they are buried at. Have to rely on the family history's
then as a family member may remember where they are buried.
I just found out where my g grandmother is buried at. My g grandfather had a
tombstone but nothing about his wife. While checking the obituary it stated
that she was buried in the same cemetery as he is. So then I checked with
the funeral home records. It gave the date and place of burial, lot number
and she is buried next to my g grandfather. The sexton had no record of it
on his book and she died in 1936.
