Another item worth mentioning regarding this topic:
Who among us can state emphatically (and correctly) that everything in our
own databases is 100% correct?
Using any of the pay sites or any website for that matter carries a certain
responsibility on the reader part also.
The genealogist must always verify and double check their data in much the
same way that you might choose a doctor.
Just because so and so says that he is a great doctor; the final opinion on
if he is a good doctor for YOU is made after your own investigations.
It must also be remembered that many of these records are old and the
original copies would never stand the test of time and the deciphering of
the writing is just impossible sometimes. Anytime that these records are
copied, it is accepted and assumed that human error will come into play as
each copier must copy only what they see.
