I am looking for additional information on George W. & Micca Vaugh Boyd and Samuel
Boyd, I would like to find the parents and also find out what happened to Samuel Boyd
Did he stay in Monroe Co., IN or possibly die before 1860
I also need to find when Micca Died I know it was after August 14, 1887 that is when she
filed for Pension her tombstone has no death date (Was she buried here with her husband
and no date inscribed or was she buried elsewhere?)
This is what I have:
George Boyd was born in Tennessee on September 17, 1815, his parents were from Virginia.
He married Micca (Meaky) Vaugh in Owen County, Indiana July 6, 1833, Micca's family
was from North Carolina. George and Micca had a son named Samuel who was born c1838,
Sometime before the year 1850 George and his family had settled in Monroe County, Indiana
he was a tailor living in the Mt. Tabor area in Bean Blossom township. On September 21,
1861 George Enlisted in the Civil War Company E, 33rd Indiana Infantry, his regiment left
Indianapolis for Louisville on September 28, 1861 and was mustered out July 21, 1865.
After his return he had taken up farming and between 1870 and 1880 he and Micca had moved
to Perry Township in Lawrence County and continued farming. George passed away January 11,
1887.
