Hello Listers:
Charles Dyer was in the legal profession. I have an old certificate of his from
"the Supreme Court of Indiana, November term 1911" stating he was "admitted
to practice as a member of the bar of said Court". Does that mean he was being
permitted to be an attorney representing clients at that court, or was he being promoted
to be a Judge? I don't understand what the certificate meant.
Is there somewhere in Indiana that I could check whether Charles R. Dyer was appointed
as Judge? Maybe there would be a clue about where he and his family lived. There is a
photo that looks like he is sitting in a courtroom, as a Judge. The family photos have
children in them, so there are descendants. It's just that none of the photos are
identified, so there are only two names. Charles Dyer and son, Jim.
Any thoughts, help, suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
