This should help you to sort out some of your MOSES family lineages.
I check the census records from 1830-1870 for the MOSES family name.
They didn't appear in the census records until the year 1850.
This appears to be the "root or original family": This would be the Simon
you mentioned.
It appears that the only one still listed in the 1870 census is living with
a sister who married into the SPEAS family lineages.
There are other SPEAS researchers out there who should be able to assist you
here.
