I found the following "Hausers" in an index that I have for probate packets
that being kept at the Owen County Library.
I do not know what the contents are but, it might be worth checking with the
librarian who handles genealogical requests: lwilkerson(a)owenlib.org

There's a good chance that this family was from Winston-Salem,
NC. Hauser
is an old name here and there were Hausers who moved from here to Owen Co.
Also, Reynolds is a big name here. The Moravian Archives in Winston-Salem
may have more info.

Subject: Hauser or Hoosier
John P. Hauser was born in Indiana about 1843. He is the son of John
Sanford and Deborah Reynolds Hauser (listed as Hoosier in the census
records). I can find him in the 1850 and 1860 Owen Co., Indiana census.
It
appears that he joined the army and was in the 59th Indiana Infantry. His
record show that he was discharged as a private so I assume that he was
alive. I can find a pension application listing his mother but can find
no
other information. Can anyone help?
