Ken,
There are apparently at least 2 Scott families in Owen Co. Do you
know whether your Scott family is part of Nancy Scott's Scott family
or is it part of the Arthur/Alexander Scott line? Do you have any
idea where the family was from before Owen Co? I'm searching for an
Eleanor Scott (ca 1794-ca 1840). She was born in PA, moved to Monroe
Co OH, where she married John Bowen in 1811. They moved to Owen Co.,
IN about 1823, but I can't find evidence of them there till 1827.
I'm speculating that Eleanor was a sister of Alexander Scott, but I
can't substantiate that. I think Arthur Scott is the father of
Alexander. But I think Arthur died about 1816. Do you have any of the
other children's names?

Hello,
I'm looking for contacts, info., etc., on the family of Major
Samuel Scott.
My g-g-grandmother was his daughter Dica A. Scott Dawson Conder.
At present I
understand that Samuel fought in the war of 1812, and had 13
children, and
don't know much else... not even his wife's name. (A family memoir
has her
listed as "Hunt?") He is supposedly buried in the "old Scott
burying ground" at
Spencer.
All the best,
