Hello Brad,
I have a Duling question for you, if you can help. In the 1860 census for
Owen Co., there is listed in Jefferson Twp. -
1043 1023
DULING Rebecca 46 F domestic 1600 300 Ohio
Elijah 20 M farmer Ohio
Collen C. 17 M Ohio
Edmond 12 M Ind.
Isaac 10 M Ind.
William 7 M Ind.
HUFFMAN Sarah 10 F Ind.
Can you tell me something about REBECCA DULING? Who was her husband? Who
are SARAH HUFFMAN's parents and are they related to the DULINGS?
I am researching the HUFFMANS in Owen Co., particularly in Jefferson Twp.
and I cannot place this SARAH. She may be the daughter of DANIEL HUFFMAN
and CAROLINE TRENT but not sure. CAROLINE died and DANIEL remarried and
left 2 other children in Owen Co. when he moved about 1870 to Iowa.
Any insight to this family will be helpful.
Thanks,
Carol Lindamood

Hello Dana,
I believe that I can be of assistance to you regarding your query. I have
been tracing the DULING family since 1968 and I have the data that you
need.
James Mathew PHIPPS and Mary Elizabeth DULING were married September 13,
1888 in Long Island, Phillips County, Kansas. They became the parents of
seven children. If you would like additional information I will be happy
to
provide it. You can write to me directly at duling(a)citynet.net
Also,
I would recommend reading "Home On The Range - A Century On
The High
Plains" by James R. Dickenson. published by the University Press of
Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas ISBN 0-7006-0758-7. This book chronicles the
lives of James & Lizzie Phipps and their struggles on the Kansas farm that
they owned. James R. Dickenson is a grandson of James & Lizzie.
I hope that this is of help to you.
Sincerely,
Brad Duling
