Hi Scott, Most of the early founders were German Lutheran. They came over
with Joshua Kochertal the famed German Lutheran who brought so many to this
country. When they couldn't get support from Germany though, they simply
called themselves Christian. Later they became affiliated with the Church
of Christ. For more info you can see "Owen County Cousins" and "The Church
of Christ in Owen County" both are in the library at Spencer.
