I looked at the census record you mentioned. It is for (Levi) Jonathan
Criss in 1870. The 16 year old is his daughter, and she is "without
employment", and Idabell, 5/12, born in Dec. (1869), is listed in 1880 as
age 10 "Ida E" and as his daughter, so we can absolutely eliminate this
Nancy. Unfortunately, many of the Criss relatives named their daughters
Sarah or Nancy, leading to much confusion for marriages with no ages
attached. Genealogy is just one big puzzle.
