I am seeking help in locating 3 obituaries.
Eliza CARTER, wife of John CARTER, born 7-26-1810, in Ky. Probably Shelby,
or Nelson Co. Died 5-2-1866, in PUTNAM Co., In. Mother of Elizabeth, Nancy,
Matilda, Margaret, Calvin, Ludwell, Goalson, John, Columba, George, Lucy,
Alonzo, and Morris.
Anne E. Sinclair CARTER, wife of John, born 8-1-1825, died 3-2-1896, in
Cloverdale Twp., Putnam Co., In,
John CARTER, widower of Eliza, and Ann E Sinclair CARTER... John was born
in KY., 1-2-1813, and died 2-27-1901, in Cloverdale Twp Putnam Co., In.
John was father of Elizabeth, Nancy, Matilda, Margaret, Calvin, Ludwell,
Goalson, John, Columba, George, Lucy, Alonzo, and Morris.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been seeking these for 35+
years.
Obit could be in Greencastle, Spencer, Gosport, Cloverdale, Quincy,
Eminence, or Martinsville...

I live in the Martinsville area and would be happy to check with Patience
Northern at the Library -- or, you could find her at the Martinsville
Library in the Genealogy Dept. The URL is
http://morg.lib.in.us/ and in the
Genealogy section, there is a place to leave her a note with your request.
She's a really nice lady and always willing to help. She charges 'almost
nothing' for her research help -- as she says, "After all, that's my
job"...
I could also check in Spencer or Greencastle. I would think that since they
died in Putnam County, Greencastle would be the Library to look in -- if
they have newspaper microfilms going back that far.. Best Regards,
