I am researching the surnames Gilbrech,Marsh,Dyer, and King.
I have found they lived on the county borders of Owen and Clay. John Adam
Gilbrech and wife Mary came to Indiana about 1838/39. Most of their eleven
children came as well. One daughter married Thomas Marsh, one married Samuel
M Dyer and the other married Valentine King. John Adam and wife Mary are
buried in a cemetery at Poland.
I have several questions: I have found Land Patent Records on the BLM site
for Gilbrech, King and Dyer. How do I, and is it possible to get more
complete records and a plat map of the area?
Second, I also found "Abstracts of Owen County Wills before 1900" on the
internet. Is it possible to get a copy of the will and were and how do I go
about getting a copy?
I have lost track of their daughters Anna Maria, Sarah and Magdalene and
their son Christian. Any info appreciated on these Gilbrechs.
Sorry so much information. But if anyone out there knows anything about any
of these families I would appreciate any information I can get.
Many Gilbrechs still live in Indiana. As far as I have been able to
determine we are all related.
Thank you,
