Thank you for reminding me, Debbie, that it has been months since I last
talked about DNA research for my families!
I have a DNA site for the AUMAN/ORMAN families and I am searching for
more men with the names to test their DNA. Especially the descendents of Henry
Orman and wife Nancy Lyle. Also Martin Orman and wife Sally Rogers of
Washington Twp., Clay County, IN. The descendents of Peter AUMAN also need to be
tested. I know that Andrew Orman b 1808 DNA matches the Andrew Auman b 1756 sons
Jacob and George with an exact 37 marker match. David Orman Sr, b 1800,
descendent Darrell Orman also is a match with Andrew b 1808. It can save years
of searching to find a common ancestor.
We have 2 others with the name Auman from Center and Juniata Co., PA who
do not match us and as a result are from another group of Auman's. Do the
Auman's of Marion Twp, Owen Co., IN belong with this group? I have wondered if
this group are descende from the Hessian Soldier who stayed after the
Revolution.
Only the Y chromosome is tested and the only use for results is to help
us isolate the related families and break down walls. Go to
_www.familytreedna.com_ (
http://www.familytreedna.com) and type in the family surname
that
interests you. Contact me personally if you would like to test your Orman/Auman
dna. The costs are $99 for 12 markers, $159 for 25, and the last 12 are
another $59. _Mary2gard(a)aol.com_ (mailto:Mary2gard@aol.com)
