You might pass along the website I posted last night. Your friend's brother
may find one of those persons who are willing to assist persons in finding
employment. It is worth a try.

These offers are not just for homes, they are offering all types of
assistance in all areas of the country. Some extend as far as Costa Rica.

If you look deeply into the palm of your hand, you will see your parents and
all generations of your ancestors. All
of them are alive in this moment. Each is present in your body. You are the
continuation.

It is great to hear that your families are okay. As heartbreaking as the
prospect is, they "can" re-build material objects. Their lives are the most
important thing.
If anyone visits the link I sent last night from the New Orleans paper, you
will see the number of persons that are willing to offer rooms in their
homes for displaced persons/families, some offer assistance in finding jobs,
some persons are simply offering to foster a home for people pets for an
undetermined amount of time.
The bad part is that not many of the people in need are able to have access
to all of these offers of assistance!

As per Debbie's "wondering"....
I'm on this list as "SUTHERLIN's"....but my MOORE side (who also resided Owen County but mostly claim Putnam Co.) has 12 FAMILIES (my 1st cousins and their children's families) in this storm. I just got word that they are all okay! One of them is a fireman in Biloxi....he is now going "door to door" his mother says. Another from Biloxi evacuated to Pensacola, FL....I don't know whether either of them still have homes or not though...all we can do is keep praying for them all.

A family friend's father and brother escaped from New Orleans and are
staying with friends about 50 miles north.
Her father left his medications behind and that has become a problem for
them. Plus, the brother is very concerned about surviving without a job.
Many problems!
Listmembers:
As I know that several of our listmembers reside in the Jacksonville and
Orlando Florida areas; I was wondering if anyone knows of any of our
subscribers had resided in the areas affected by the hurricane?
I correspond with several persons, but they don't always tell me where they
are located until later when I have a more in depth correspondence with
them.
I cannot off hand think of anyone, but I thought perhaps one of our readers
may know of someone or have relatives down there.
Of course, all of our prayers are with all of those people down there, but I
would hate for one of our subscribers to have family down there and not
offer them a word of sympathy or encouragement.
