I am looking for George and Malinda Baker's graves or proof of death. I did
find somewhere that George passed on 5-1892. Malinda passed in 1901.( I
believe) in Franklin township in Owen county.
---------------------------------
I can not find George or Malinda's graves. Would you have any idea or advice
on how to find them. I live in Texas and have small children and foster
children. Therefore I cant really travel. Any advice or help would be greatly
appreciated.
I have looked on ancestry. I found something on washington county death
index for both. But as usual when i tried to pull it up it wont open. It was in
book b page 4 for george and 9 for malinda.
------------------------------------
GEORGE BAKER born around 1838 in OHIO.
He married a MALINDA HOCKMAN (born 1836 in WASHINGTON county) around (1856 in
WASHINGTON county).
I found them on the 1860 census in LAYFAYETT township in OWEN county,
Indiana.
the 1870 census in FRANKLIN township in OWEN county.
the 1880 census in FRANKLIN township in OWEN county.
I can not find anything else on George.
I found Malinda on the 1900 census living with her daughter and family, Nancy
Bush in FRANKLIN township in OWEN county.
George and malinda had
1. Thomas Jefferson around 1857. He moved to Texas with wife amanda
faulkner around 1882. With Amanda's parents.
2. Sarah Hester around 1859.
3. Harman Hartley around 1861. I believe he moved to illinois.
4. John around1863.
5. Nancy Elizabeth around 1865. She married George Bush and lived in Owen
county.
6. Mary around 1870.
7. Robert around 1871.I believe he moved to illinois also. I found a harman
and Robert born in Indiana on the 1900 census. With wives and families. Age's
correspond to theirs.
-------------------------------
Malinda's parents also lived in indiana. Her parents are burried in Hicks
cemetary near freedom, owen county. Christopher and nancy hockman.
-----------------------------------
Also any information on GEORGE'S parent's. The census say they were also
born in OHIO.
----------------------------------
We also have numerous old photos of bakers that need identifying. (Pearl,
cecil, clara, eloise, hattie, alpha, maude, amanda, little mandy, little robert,
Harman hartley, Gertrude and Willie Carter) They would either be from
Indiana, Ohio, illinois, or texas.
. Thanks , Wendy
