Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Listmembers:
Great news for our website!
After working at this for quite some time, I have been able to get us onto a
new server.
The website will be moving to a regular Rootsweb server, WITHOUT the banners,
WITHOUT the pop ups, so this should be much better. We also have virtually
unlimited space.
HOWEVER...
on the down side, I will be spending much of the afternoon and evening moving
everything from the old server to the new one.
This will be time consuming as of last count there were 1300 pages of data on
our site. It should be noted though that I will leave the old site up until I
have transferred everything--but as I go through and move it over I will be
REMOVING it from the old site.
So if you check the old site and find a bad link or lack of graphics, then
that particular item is already moved.
I will let you know when the new site is completely moved over.
I would say though, that until sometime tomorrow evening you may need to
check both sites if you have an "emergency" to find something.
Our new URL will be:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~inowen2/sweetowen.html
It IS active now, but as I said, it will all be half and half.
Please make note of the changes in your bookmarks and I will get this moved
as quickly as possible. I do however want to be sure not to loose anything in
the transfer.
If you have or are sending something for the site, please go ahead and send
it and it will just be in my mailbox until I get done moving things.
One thing to make note of also is that I won't be changing the links
for "Home" at the bottom of all the pages until I change it over, so when
viewing the new site, you might need to just use your back button.

Is there anyone in Owen County researching the Shoppell surname-or perhaps
have Shoppell in their pedigree workup. Ann
