In reply to the query about William Brasier:
1. When did Sally Curry and Isaac Brasier move to Owen County?
2. The McCarty/Curry book by Noble K. Littell says all their children except
the last were born in Jefferson County, Kentucky, but there are few dates for
any of them.
3. There is a reference attached to William's name which says: "Civil War
Pension Records, Certificate # 262, 588." Since William died circa 1836, I
don't know whose pension record this would be, but it might be worth checking.

Debbie,
Did the site mention how to go about requesting information? I know that for a long time you had to be a member of the Masonic Order or the Eastern Star to access these records. Has this changed? I would love the link to the site.
Thanks,
Layne Powell

I almost forgot, in the chat last night we were talking about the availability of records from the Masons and using them for a resource.
I found a site last night that stated that although most of the Masons carry a lot of records, you most likely wouldn't be able to obtain any of the older records because the limited amount of volunteers working on requests deal only with the records that have been transferred to computer files and most of the old ones are still just handwritten.
I hope this answer the questions.

The gathering in the chat room was nice last night although just a small crowd. I don't mean to imply that it is only for all of us together.
If any of you find that you wish to gather with one or more others at any time, just go there and put in a name and chat away.
The Riverside Cemetery is finally completed and Beech Cemetery part two is on the webpage.
I will shortly be starting on the Gosport Cemetery in order to complete the Wayne township area.
Our birth, death, marriage and divorce databases are working nicely.

I need a SCOTT family that migrated from Kentucky to Indiana between 1821 and
1844. Does anyone know of such a family, which might have had a daughter in
1821?

Jonathan married Frances DAVIS on Novemer 2, 1797 in Grainger county TN.
Census records show that they were in TN for a short time and then in Bourbon county KY shortly after the 1830 census and then they migrated to Owen county and their daughter Lucy married John EVANS on March 24, 1831 in Owen county, IN.
Jonathan MASSEY and family appears on the 1850 Owen county census and then they disappear. Their children married many of the Owen county names and settled there. These were names of HOOTEN, CARTER, EVANS, MODRELL, GILLASPEY.
I am wanting to find out just what may have happened to Jonathan & Franky. Did they die in Owen county? Did they migrate elsewhere? Although Jonathan is 77 years old on the 1850, I am finding nothing indicating a burial in Owen county. There was some thought that another Jonathan MASSEY found in Bourbon county KY was our Jonathan, but further studies show that he was a different one.
For further identification purposes, the children of Jonathan MASSEY and Franky DAVIS were:
Isaac b.1807 m. Nancy HOOTEN (d/o Littleton)
Lucy Ann b. 1809 m. John EVANS (s/o David)
Willis b. about 1813 m. Harriet GILLASPEY (d/o Martin)
Jacob b. 10-6-1814 m. Jane MODRELL
Elizabeth b.about 1816 m. Emanuel HOOTEN (s/o Littleton)
Jane b. about 1824 m. Hiram CARTER
I would also be interested in just what family this Hiram CARTER comes from.
Any help is appreciated.

Many thanks to each of you who responded to my query about the availability
of marriage records for the period around 1841. I feel Hulda & James Coen
were married BEFORE they moved to Spencer, but at least now I know there
was no civil record on file.
Thanks again

Looking for info regarding a marriage between James Matthew PHIPPS and Lizzie
DULING. I have info stating that James married an Emma SCOTT, and then after
her death, married Lizzie DULING. Emma and her second daughter both died in
1880, so I am guessing the marriage to Lizzie would have been shortly after.
Ideas, anyone? Thanks!
