George Washington Snider, Jr., born in Orange County in July 1844. His
parents were George Washington Snider Sr., and Matilda Blevins. They were
married though in Crawford County in 1840 and had one older son Daniel F.
They appear to have lived in Crawford County as we found land documents that
George brought land in 1838 and eventually sold 40 acres to a William Temple
and just around the time of the birth of his son sold another 40 acres to
his mother Barbara and his siblings. Apparent his father David was already
deceased. We wonder why Gouge Jr. was born in Orange County. Was his father
ill and they were living there temporarily. We also found that in August of
1844 that his fathers estate was being settled and that the administrator
was a Daniel Blevins. We assume he was a relative of Matilde's. Have
never been able to prove for certain who Matilde's parents were. One
relative thinks it was a William Blevins, and Sarah unknown maiden name.
But, others say that Williams, birth and death places don't match with Sarah
as his spouse.
