Indeed it was. Brothers of my ancestor, John Wells, named Nathan and Joseph
Wells, were Quakers who came from Cane Creek NC to Orange County Indiana in
the early 1800's. They came with the Lindley family and others from North
Carolina and founded the Cane Creek Quaker settlement.
