Thanks for your response.
This is the correct Jonah. Mary was his first wife. After her death he
married Matilda. Think on one census people thought there were twins as the
two Snider children were listed as Ruberson. Think it was David was the
same age as one of his boys.
We had always thought his son Joseph T. was a half brother of George but
discovered they were step brothers. I am assuming that Mary died about the
time of Joseph's birth and one census has him as a 3 year old living the
home of a family near them by the last name of Rudd.

For what it's worth....
Jonah Ruberson m. Mary Stoit Mar 14, 1833 Orange Co, IN
Is anyone familiar with the Ruberson family? I have a John Roberson in
Orange/Dubois about the same time who died in 1846 at the Battle of Buena
Vista. He married Mary Anna Wininger. Cannot find his ancestry but happy to
share descendants.

Does anyone have any Blevins or Snider's in Orange County or possibly
Penrod. My husbands great grandfather George Washington Snider Jr. was
born
in Crawford County in May of 1844. We found that his fathers estate was
being settled in Crawford County in August of that same year. We know his
Mothers first name was Matilda and think her maiden name was Blevins as
she
and George married in Crawford County in 1840. But, some seem to think
name
was Matilda Penrod. We do know she was remarried to Jonah L. Ruberson in
Crawford County in 1848. But, how did she care for her two children David
born in 1841 and George prior to her remarriage. Did she marry a Penrod in
the meantime. And, went back to using Blevins - In fact one source in
Family search as Matilda Penrod marrying Jonah same date and place, but
Indiana records have the names as Snider and Ruberson.
