MRS. RICHARD ABEL EXPIRES IN HOSPITAL
Funeral services are being held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Richard Abel, 80,
French Lick, who died Saturday evening at the Orange County hospital. She
had been a patient there for six weeks.
Rites conducted by Rev. Norman Howard are from Schmutzler Funeral Home with
burial in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Mrs. Abel was the former Elizabeth Wininger
and was a native of Dubois County. She was a member of the Cane Creek
Christian Church.
Surviving with the husband are four daughters, Mrs. Alice Paul of
Morristown, Pa., Mrs. Robert Leeasdale (sic) of Glouster City, N. J., Mrs.
William Verbarg (sic) of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Marie Huff, French Lick;
three sons, Robert A. and William Conrad, both of Indianapolis, and Carl
Abel, French Lick, five stepchildren, Preston Abel, Bedford, Russell Abel,
Bloomington, Garrett Abel, Indianapolis, Paul Abel and Mrs. William Howe,
French Lick. Also surviving are five brothers and sisters, Frank Wininger
and Mrs. Zelbert Lindsey, French Lick, L. C. and John Wininger and Mrs.
Pearl Knies of Gary; 14 grandchildren; 24 step grandchildren; five step
great grandchildren.
