I'm trying to find out whether the Arthur Atkinson listed as born in Orange Co. March
30, 1827, is the grandson of Thomas Atkinson born 1741 died in Ohio about 1813.

That information is pretty much covered in the Indiana Quaker Records Vol 6
that covers the meetings in Orange Co. I don't know if the library in Paoli
has that volume, but it's available in the Indiana State Library on Ohio St.
in Indpls. Many of us also have copies we bought in the 1960's for $8 each.
Of course many arrivals in Orange Co, IN came from Orange Co, NC

Does anyone have the settlement dates for the early Quaker settlers of
Orange County? Is there a list of the original settlers who came with
Jonathan
Lindley in 1811?

I have worked at digging up the history of my family in Orange coulty,
several years ago. The sources I found most valuable were the archives of
the Orange County Genealogical Society, The Washington County Historical
Society and State land records in Indianpolis.?Orange
County's?first settler was John Hollowell of Wayne County, NC. His
headstone can be found in the cemetery at Valeen. John was a
Quaker.?
Ray Handley, Milwaukee.
