Dear Dennis, Im sorry its taken me so long to reply to your post to the
INORANGE email list but Ive hung onto your email because I thought I might
have a connection. I have a book entitled Lashbrooke, Lashbrooks and
Lashbrook of the United States, by Mary K Gritt. I looked them up and
Jeremiah and Pharaba and were in the book! It doesnt give much info on
Pharaba because it seems to concentrate on Lashbrook, but it does seem to
confirm that suspicion of yours that she was the widow to Jeremiah Lashbrook.
here's what it says.
"Jeremiah Lashbrooks, born about 1828 in Orange Co, IN, was the son of John
and Hetty (Hopkins) Lashbrooks. He married Pharaba Taylor on 16 August 1849
in Orange Co., IN. Jeremiah served in the IN 38 Infantry, A Co. in the Civil
War, dying 8 November 1862 in Bowling Green, KY of measles. Pharaba, aged 35
on 22 Aug 1866, received a pension until her remarriage 10 December 1868 to
William Bolling/Boland. Jeremiah's brother, Hiram, served as guardian for
Jeremiah's children until they reached the age of 16 years. It lists their
children as being William Franklyn b. 17 Apr 1850, Samuel J b. 8 Dec 1854,
George Wesley b. 25 Feb 1857, Edward H b. 17 Nov 1859 and John A b. 31 Aug
1861, all were born in Orange Co, IN."
Does this help? If you need info about their children and grandchildren
coming forward I may be able to trace that through this book also. If you
need to go back further in the past, it'll take me back through the Lashbrook
line, but not Pharaba's line.
I hope this info has helped you.
