The latest activity on the list, re history of Orange Co., leads me again to ask: who was
Francis Wood? The Goodspeed History refers to a transfer of land to the Methodist Church
by Francis Wood. There is a citation regarding him the the early census (The Indiana 1820
Enumeration of Males - Orange County), as well as two "Last Will and Testament"
citations in records at the Orange County Clerk of the Circuit Court.
These citations are of extreme interest to me because they mention the RAGLE children of
my 3x great grandmother Susanna, who was married first to Jacob RAGLE (died War of 1812),
then to James PARROTT (Perrott, Parrot) (died ?cause, place, and date unknown), then to
James WATT. In the 1830 census Susanna is shown as head of household in Orleans, along
with two male RAGLE children, Peter & John, also heads of households at that date in
Orleans.
I know a fair amount about the first (RAGLE) marriage, and about the third (WATT)
marriage, but essentially nothing about Parrott and about the RAGLE/PARROTT family during
the interval 1812 - 1820. I know nothing about the relationship between WOOD and any of
these people, though they were clearly connected in some fashion.
Any other information would be very gladly received.
