Why not contact the Archives at DePauw University? It has a name which I
can't remember. It may start with the given name "Roy." The switchboard
can tell you.
This may, or may not, work out, as they don't have records of all
churches. But it's worth a shot.

Anyone there in Orange County able to provide me with a contact for
finding early church records? The past two years I have written the
church x2 and called several times to no avail (no answers). I would like
to try by phone again but maybe there is another number someone
can provide me. The church is the Paoli United Methodist Church, address
794 E. State Road 56. I only have the parsonage number (812) 723-2763. I
usually get voice mail of the minister and since I am long distance, I do
not leave my phone number. Although, I did one time saying they could
call collect, but still no return call. Is someone local able to call the
number for me until they can get a live voice or leave a local number for
the parsonage to call back and get me another number to call--or snail
and/or email contact. I am trying to find out if they have early
records. The Paoli church is consolidated from others. I am hoping there
are records from 1838-1870 somewhere. The regional archi!
ves for IN has membership records dating 1876 on but nothing else on this
church, so where are the earlier records--if any at all? During the
period my ancestors in question were established with the church, the
minister was David Osborn and the church was simply M.E. Church in
Paoli. The info at the Genweb Orange County site has provided me with
great info so I know the church was consolidated in the 1880s. Anne-Marie
