Hay you all. This is wonderful. You have hit on my line.
James Lindley was Hung at Kettle Creek here in Washington Georgia as a Tory
after the Battle. I am tracking more information on this event in our lives.
Any one have anything on this happening?
The Battle is celebrated by the Sons of the American Revolution and others
DAR ,CAR each year on Fed 14 the day it was fought. Last year we celebrated
the 225 anniversayr. At the time I did not know that James Lindley was hung
there as a Tory.
Ruth Hadley also a relative. My sister will connect this line.
Thanks you so very much.

Dixie,
If I have it figured right, this is the decadency from James Lindley, the
immigrant. James is the man who was very successful following his
emigration to PA. There are good books about Lindleys, so I haven't
included much in my FTW. It stands to reason that Jonathon would have
sufficient funds to buy lots of land. Since the family was Quaker, I
suspect he was. Check the State Library for several good histories. My
husband is a descendant of this Hadley/Lindley line via the Allen/Jones
marriage.
