Hello,
I just joined the Orange Co. List and thought I would post my research
interests. My GG-Grandparents were William and Penelope Webb.
Penelope's maiden name is unknown at this point. They were both born
in IN abt. 1816 and 1817, respectively, and had 6 children which were
all born in IN:
Lovina abt. 1842
Louisa abt. 1847
Martin Holden b. 16 Mar 1849 Switzerland Co., IN
Rubin abt. 1852
William abt. 1854
Benjamin Franklin b. 30 Mar 1858 Howard Co., IN (my G-GF)
William and Penelope were in Perry Co., IN on 1 Oct 1850 (1850 census)
and Howard Co., IN on 4 June 1860 (1860 census). Due to the close
proximity to Orange Co. of the birth place of Martin Holden in 1849
and their residence in 1850 and the naming of my G-GF, I have become
interested in Benjamin and Olive Webb. I have their census records
from 1820 -1860. The 1820 census for Benjamin enumerated 3 Free White
Males under 10 in his household. William would have been abt. 4 years
in 1820. I have the names of 4 of Benjamin and Olive's children from
the 1850 census but it is obvious that some of the older males had
already left home. I am curious if there are any Orange Co.
researchers familiar with this family that would have knowledge of my
GG-GF William Webb being an older son of Benjamin and Olive. Any help
or leads would be deeply appreciated.
Bill
