Hi folks,
It is will extremely mixed feelings that I have to announce that a new
coordinator is needed for the Orange County USGenWeb county site. As many
of you are aware I have been fighting a form of lung cancer for the past
year and while most of the medical bills were covered under my health
insurance my living expenses were out of pocket for close to 5 months.
Needless to say my savings have taken a major hit and I'm forced to take
work on the road to recover some of my savings.
Fortunately my health has recovered to the point where I can travel and
work. For the last month or so I have been doing various powerhouse shut
downs in Louisiana. The work is 7 days a week, 12 hours a day. Long hours
hundreds of miles away from home, but necessary in order to pay the bills
that have accumulated over the past year.
So we need a new coordinator for our site. If you are interested and
have HTML skills then please help with the site. There's a constant flow of
information available, our Orange County family has tons of information and
they send it regularly, so new information to add to the site is always
available. I will, of course, work with anyone willing to take on this task
to make the transfer as easy as possible.
If you have website experience, know how to operate FTP transfers to a
web server and have the time please consider becoming the site coordinator.
It's fun, extremely interesting and very rewarding. Contact me at my new
address ( labooski(a)ithink.net ) and we'll work on transferring the
information.
I'd like to thank all of the fine folks that helped me along the way.
Four years ago I knew very little of my family heritage, but with the help
of many I now have a much clearer view of my family and our 7 generation tie
to Orange County. I'd like to see the site remain in our Orange County
family. Again a heartfelt thank you to all those that helped me these last
two years.
Sincerely,
Tom Agan
