I know what you mean... several of the cmeteries that
are still used have trustees I know Emmons Ridge does
but it's debatable if it's in Orange Co or martin...
depends on who you ask.
I was at Antioch Cemetery 2 weeks ago, it's in NW
township. It is kept mowed but no one seems to work
with the downed stones or cut back the vines and trees
that cover some of the stones.
Wininger cemetery... another Orange County
debatable... is like that as well. Sad...
It be nice if there was a commission but given the
conditions of the cemeteries especially the old and
hardly ever used ones I doubt it exists.
If something is started or can be arranged I will
volunteer to help if I can. I mainly know French Lick
Township and NW Township cemeteries.

There are a number of abandoned cemeteries. Is
anyone interested in working
to get them restored and accessible?
The one I have family in (Hunt) has no good access
(one has to brave a herd
of cattle who charge at you) and many of the stones
are down. I'm sure many
others have similar problems.
Like to see a discussion of this problem on this
site.
