Hi Laura,
The family bible and word of mouth are probably the only way (church) that
you are going to find the information you want.
1. Check out Indiana marriages before 1850--it is on the web in many
places.
2. Since you are in Orange Co., I assume Indiana, check the Quaker records.
Your people may have been Quakers, and the Quakers kept detailed records.
3. Keep asking. You may have to get information around these people--their
children, their parents, the cemetery--the census.

Subject: Marriage Certificates
If I have information about two individuals who married, such as who, where,
and when, would I be able to find out more?
For example, I am researching Henry DAMEWOOD who married Elizabeth RADER, 16
August 1828, in Orange County. They had a son, John, born 10 September
1829.
Am I going to be able to learn anything more about these two, such as
parents, birthdates, siblings, anything? If so, how would I find this
information? Is there a genealogical society or section of the local
library
or anything that would keep marriage records on file? What about birth
records? I would assume John had siblings, but I don't know of any.
Any thoughts?
Thank you,
Laura Jones
