We wonder about a Daniel Blevins in Indiana. My husbands gggrandmother was
Matilda Snider/Ruberson from the Crawford County Indiana area. She was widowed
with two small children in 1844. The administrator of the estate was Daniel
Blevins. We think her maiden name was Blevins and wonder if this might be her
brother or possibly her father. She was about 23 when she was widowed. She
married Jonah Ruberson in 1848 and the were living in Missouri by 1850. We have
no information on her prior to her marriage to George Snider in Crawford
County in 1840. That marriage license lister her as Matilda Blevins. Although
some family members think she was Matilda Penrod. But, have found nothing on
this and know the Matilda Blevins Snider Ruberson person is the correct one. But,
was her maiden name Penrod and then she married a Blevins and then a Snider?
We do know their second child was born in Orange County, Indiana one county
away from Crawford. Where her parents there, did she go there to have the baby
as the area they lived in Crawford County was very rugged.
