Subject: [INORANGE] APPLE, Simeon, Sarah Gobble
Hello Orange County, IN Listers:
I am connected to Simeon Apple, born in North Carolina in 1822. He moved
up to Orange county, IN with the rest of the Apples in the early 1800s. I
can not find he and his wife, Sarah GOBLE after the 1850 census and I am
wondering if anyone knew anything about him, i.e., did he move somewhere
and what were he and Sarah's children's names if they had any.
I descend from his father, whom we are pretty sure is William son of
Daniel, but have yet to find the proof; all our evidence is
circumstantial, but it's pretty strong evidence.
I have built an Apple page on my web site that members may or may not be
aware of; it's been around a while, so Apple researchers might already
know about it.
I also want to warn Apple researchers that the Apple book put out by
Stephen and Karen Booth Apple has MANY, MANY errors in it and some are
even on my site. I am currently in North Carolina conducting research;
and I've taken many pictures of Apple's Chapel down here and Frieden's
church and cemetery.
I will be uploading these pictures to my site sometime in November after I
get home at the end of October.
I would like to hear from anyone who is connected to my Apple line,
especially on what happened to Simeon and Sarah and what they named their
children. I can't find him anywhere in census records after 1850. Also
if anyone might know where he is buried.
Here is my Apple page(s), again, their are mistakes on it, don't take it
literally, at least until I get home and correct some things. Does anyone
know where the Ridley name comes from in our Apple line and the line that
went to Tennessee? (another son of Daniel's went to TN and that name
follows them). I was told by a researcher down here that Daniel and
Barbara Spoon had a son named Ridely who died young. I am guessing his
brothers went on to name their children after him, but I am wondering
where the name comes from in the first place. It could come from Daniel's
wife's family, Barbara Spoon (Loffel) but since we don't know anything
about her ancetry yet, we just don't know. I have picked up on some clues
to her ancestry while here.
My Apple page is large and broken into two pages, and has lots of
pictures, maps and census records on it, so if you are woking with a slow
connection; be patient.
Also, so we don't bog down the list, you may contact me privately to
discuss this Apple group @ kmonticue(a)uswest.net
and here is my Apple Link:

More info on Simeon:
Simeon Apple; born April 1, 1822; he married Sarah Gobble on 29 September
1842. Simon and Sarah did not appear in Orange County after the 1850
census, so they must have migrated, but I don’t know where. (B. Smith; my
mother who researched the line for 25 yrs) Simeon is listed in Friedens
Church records (the church the Apple's attended before Apple's Chapel was
created in NC.)
Thanks for any and all help.
