Hi Sharon
My name is Vaughn Bushman and my Riley family is the David & Sarah Riley family of Jackson Township. They arrived in the county later than yours. There were possibly 4 Riley families there; David, Edward, Henry, and John P.
I have a copy of the will of Edward listing the children but I have no other data on the children, i.e. BMD Perhaps we can exchange info.
Thanks

I was at the Orange County Library on the square in Paoli in January.
They had some information on the Quakers in Orange County.
At the time I was not interested. I have since discovered a Quaker link
in my mother's Allen/Hobson heritage. I have nothing else to offer,
except to try the library.

I am researching the names above, they are all children and in-laws of Edward & Elizabeth Riley of Orange Co., IN. The Rileys moved to IN from Orange Co., NC, arriving about 1814. Seems there was a large migration between those two places.
After being in IN for 12-15 years, a big group of the names above moved on to Yell/Pope Co. AR.
Would love to hear from anyone else researching these names.
Sharon Tingley
1) Leonard Walter Moore married Laura Alice Kearby nov 1881
2) William Hawkins Kearby married Eleanor Marley Morgan march 1858
3) Edward Moore married Margret Marley june 1838
4) john Moore married Rebecca Alspaugh feb 1817
All married in Orange Co
I have a large database in Family Tree Maker of the many families that
are tied in many ways to the Hudelson family in Orange Co, and of all
the Quaker families who settled in Orange Co and welcome any queries and
additional information on any of the connections to these families. I'm
descended from the Quakers who settled in Wayne, Union and Henry Co's of
Indiana, but discovered those who came to Orange Co are also my
relatives so there is a connection to me. My mother was a Huddleston,
and not directly connected to the Hudelson line in America, but surely
connected way back in England.
So Hudelson, Lindley, Pipher, Quackenbush, Trueblood, Nicholson,
Gifford, etc are of great interest as are almost all families that came
from Orange Co, NC to Ind.

I am also researching William Nicholas Hellums who died in Loogootee, Martin
County, Indiana in 1908. According to his death record he is buried in
Antioch Cemetery, Orange County, Indiana. His sister was buried there in
1906 according to Orange County health dept.
Does anyone have a copy of the old church records before the church burned
in 1997 ?? Surely someone does.
Help !!!
