John,
You said something that caught my interest.
As it happens, I do have a very serious interest in Clermont County.
I am
a
descendant of Jacob Light (founder of New Richmond) and his daughter
Mary
("Polly") and son-in-law William Dorrel. William was raised in Jacob's
family,
probably because his parents were killed by Indians in Pennsylvania.
William
moved with the Light family to Clermont County around 1800, and later
with
his
wife and children to Ohio (then Dearborn) County, Indiana around
1815.
Can I ask how you found out about your family members in that early pioneer
timeframe 1800-1815?
I am trying to find parents of John Trader born c.1811 and I am running out
of ideas.
I have checked census, burials, marriage license, and all the usual
suspects.
Thanks.
Janet
