CHRISTIAN WITNESSAND HOLINESS ADVOCATE OF BIBLE
HOLINESS OCT 8 1931
Mary SPEICHER, nee SHOLTZ, wife of the late Daniel L. SPEICHER
of Urbana Indiana, was born in Wabash County, Indiana, February 23,
1859 and died May 3, 1931 aged 72 years, 2 months and 10 days. She
was converted under the labors of Dr. C C BAUMGARTNER in 1877
and sanctified during the writer’s pastorate who employed Rev J F
GROB evangelist , to conduct a revival in 1893.
She was a quiet disposition and enjoyed a deep religious experience
especially after her sanctification
She was a charter member of the Northern Indiana Holiness
Association, of which her husband was the honored president for many
years, and she was greatly interested in the spread of holiness as a
second work of grace. She was greatly missed at the Alexandria camp
meeting this fall, but through her prayers and that of others this camp
has taken a new start under a new organization as an
interdenominational holiness camp meeting. A good number are being
saved and sanctified To God be all the glory.
She and her husband shared each other fellowship in holy wedlock for
46 years and are from henceforth forever in heaven. Shortly before her
death she spoke of going to be with Jesus and said O that will be
glorious, glorious,
Two daughters Mrs. Myrtle HANSING and Mrs. Bertie SHAFER and
six grandchildren besides many friends mourn her departure Rev. M
Herner preached the funeral sermon assisted by Rev Ce Geist, Rev.
