Hi Dev
Dover is in Dearborn county, the county directly next to Ohio co. (URL
below)
Dover is in Kelso Twp. Many of my ancestors are from there. If you go to
Dearborn co GenWeb page and click on Townships you will find a map of the
twps to get idea of where it is located (northren part of the county)
I have a map I could scan for you if you would like. Let me know.
In the beginning ( :-) ) Dover was called McKenzies Crossings. It was
also referred to as Kelso. Kelso & McKenzie were early pioneers. For the
most part Irish immigrants were the 1st settlers then later Germans.
Dover today is on HWY 101 (I think I have that right-will check). Not
much is left of the town except St John's Catholic Church & ceme. Morgans
Raid of the Civil War passed thru.
I really love visiting the area because so many of my ancestors were from
there.
What surnames are you researching from the area? I'm familiar with many
of the names.

Hi All,
For the past few years I have been attempting to find information on my
ancestors in Boone Co, IN because of old info that stated that their
deaths were in Dover, IN. I have just learned from a very helpful
gentleman on the Boone Co. web page, that he remembered as a boy his
grandfather pointing out to him "another" Dover near to Rising Sun &
Cincinnati. As the other family members were in Rising Sun and
Cincinnati, I am sure that I have been looking in the WRONG county all
this time!
I am going to be in the area next week and would sure appreciate if any
one has knowledge of this Dover settlement/town in Ohio Co. Any and all
info is greatly appreciated!!! THANKS!
Dev
