Dillon R. Dorrell, in his book "The Ohio County Community Story" mentions
the following one room school houses in Cass Township where Aberdeen is
located: Old Murray Branch (Bovard School), Murray Branch, New Hope, Clay
Bank, Downey's Corner, Clark, Bascom, Aberdeen and Zion.
This book and others that Mr. Dorrell has written can be purchased at the
Ohio County Historical Society at Rising Sun.
The well, across the corner from the stores in Aberdeen, is still there,
on the Weaver Farm, but it does not have a pump on it.
