Walt, I do think your question is quite reasonable -- it does pertain
to
our gen. research.
I live somewhat east of Cincinnati, have been to Rising Sun once, I
really don't know of a place to stay.
I'm reasearching the Obertate family that was in Rising Sun in the
1870's. John Obertate m. Catherine Louise
Hunting in Rising Sun in 1874, they were in Carroll Co. KY by 1880.
Some other Obertates - another line - stayed in Rising sun, some
descendants still there. But we cannot put the two men together.
A sister of Catherine Louise came in 1869, m. Frederick Dieckman, whose
many descendants are all over.
I suspect that my John - Casper Henry - was a nephew to the Casper Henry
Obertate who is buried in the old
German Cementery there and whose descendants we have.
Would surely like to prove that my hunch is right.
Hope you have a productive trip and search.
Phyllis
